Our Spine: The Centre of Movement & Wellbeing

The purpose of Pilates isn’t simply to build muscle - it’s to support the spine so the body can move efficiently, and with ease.

Our spine is designed to move in six directions: forward and back (folds & extensions), side to side, and twists (think gentle rotation). When we move as the body is supposed to, the whole body benefits.

 In our classes, we encourage:

✔️ Spinal articulation – flexion, extension, rotation, and side‑bends
✔️ Strength with gentleness – support your spine rather than forcing your body into shapes it does not like
✔️ Awareness – notice how you hold yourself when you move and when you rest #ConnectBodyBackToYourMind

Small, mindful movements practiced consistently can futureproof your body, improve resilience, and bring mobility back to stiff areas.
