There are many options for classes in Surrey Hills, Camberwell, Canterbury and Mont Albert but Deb and the staff at MMSH have created a wonderfully inclusive and safe space for learning.
I have taken Pilates, yoga and barre classes at a variety of gyms and studios over the years but I can truthfully say that Mindful Movement in Surrey Hills is head and shoulders above all the others.
The staff at MMSH show genuine care in each client understanding their body, consolidating and progressing technique and feeling positive about themselves. The staff take time to come and provide feedback (verbal, visual and kinaesthetic) to each student and are happy to repeat instructions or clarify things.
As well as the fabulous staff, the space is beautifully set up. MMSH is designed to welcome people in; to have a cup of tea, a sit down, read a book or have a chat.
The point of difference is the consideration of every person individually.

After completing trials around the area and searching for the right fit for me, I can honestly say that MMSH has been the best fit. There’s such an incredible community feel about this studio and I have met so many wonderful people who live locally. It feels so wonderful to be part of a community where the teachers know my name, know my background and history and can tailor each class to suit each person’s needs. The space is bright, light, spacious and clean. The teachers are incredible and so knowledgeable. I tried the intro to Pilates classes about 3 months ago, based on a friend’s recommendation, and have been a regular at the studio since. My hope was to reduce the effects of years of stress and sedentary life through some physical activity that would build strength and fitness. And ideally lose some weight. The results have been better than I’d hoped on all counts. Sleeping and moving better, and most of the familiar, nagging aches and pains have eased or gone altogether. Committed, helpful instructors, and a friendly, welcoming group in the classes. I can’t recommend the studio highly enough.
